Tough

I haven't written much lately. Things have been rough. Where I work people have been losing their jobs. I have an extremely close friend who has only 2-3 weeks to live. Emotionally, I am struggling. I feel cut off from everyone. Too much grief, death, trying to help others and not making enough room to help myself. Say a prayer for me.

A week ago we visited my mother-in-law's grave and that evening when we looked at your blog we noticed that the flowers you placed at your parents' grave looked just like the ones we had placed earlier that day!...(in Rome)..
We've recently found two international groups that help: Contemplative Outreach (http://www.centeringprayer.com/)and the World Community for Christian Meditation (http://www.wccm.org). These groups have much in common with Thomas Merton, and his work is at the base of their activities. This web page (http://www.centeringprayer.com/
Generosity/reachout.htm)
has a sculpture that says it all, along with a beautiful statement about the world today. We're with you in prayer, Dan.

Just wanted to let you know that I saw a post about sending positive thoughts your way on Nashville is Talking and I am happy to do so.

Hang in there, Dan. It seems like all the hard stuff seems to happen at once. This is just a windy side-road in your life's journey, not the final destination. You will make it through.

All my best,
Lisa
