Monastic Skete- Daily Living A Hermit Lifestyle of Meditation
I am retired now, a full-time writer. I still actively do retreats. I love the works of Thomas Merton and my new book, "Spiritual Journaling -God's Whispers in Daily Living" is available on Kindle and Amazon. http://amzn.to/qQz6Ng

....even in winter, there is a beauty in a tree....the buds are already there waiting for His signal...symbol of hope for us who look for a better world.
"O Lord, how blessed is Thy handiwork...how great Thy marvelous majesty...how glorious is Thy Sacred name! Our souls's delight is to praise You...our joy is in our homage before You...our happiness is in Thy will. Help us to dwell conscious of Thy Presence...listening for the small still voice...waiting for Thy knock at our door."
Psalm 87:7 "...city of God...dwelling in thee is as it were all rejoicing." Glad are the people of God for they know His tender care.
....even in the simplest things, there is a vital spark ofthe living God...they could not exist without it...in the beauty of the sky...in the smile of a little child...in the worn hands of the elderly...in the wave of a neighbor to greet us... in the life that endures even through the severe Winter. Everywhere are the fingerprints of God. Blessed are they who 'see' them.
Ecclesiasticus 39:41 "Bless the name of the Lord...praise Him with the words of your mouth and with a full heart." The simple things in nature call out to us and bid us come to prayer. Happy those who can 'hear' the call.
A Merton quote: "The tighter you squeeze, the less you have." We sometimes make the mistake of hanging on too tightly to things of little worth and miss the opportunity to really 'squeeze' the precious things of God. What do we value so higly? What do we cling to? Certainly it is true... that blessed are they who treasure God and hang on to Him with enduring hope.
Psalm 63:8 "And God shall be exalted." When we see a thing of special beauty and our hearts are drawn up to God, we might say to Him: 'Be exalted.'......or we might say 'Let all the works of Thy hands give You glory.'...or we might say 'Thanks.'
