Thomas Merton New Links
Two links are noteworthy today. First is a Book Review of No Man is an Island. and secondly is how Robert Lax (Merton's best friend) reacted when he heard that Thomas Merton had died.
On Meditation -- "We choose our subject for meditation, focus the mind upon it, bringing the attention back again and again in order to look at various facets of the subject, and ask ourselves not only "Why does it mean?" but "What does it mean for me? What has it to do with my life?" (Douglas Steere) MY FAVORITE LINKS

Thanks for your kind e-mail, Dan. I haven't visited your site in a long time, so I'll take a look now. I did go over to the poem Robert Lax wrote/drew when Merton died. I had never seen it before. I think so often about how he would be reacting to all the "bad stuff" in the world today. I strongly doubt he would have remained within the structure of the Roman Catholic Church, but I guess I'm saying that because I can't seem to stay for very long anymore within its confines.
