FOUNDATION.................Notice the base or 4th stone. That is the 'supported by God' stone. Recall "...and upon this rock I will build My church." Our body and mind and spirit seek a firm foundation. Beauty has many forms for us to enjoy. Good work. (Matthew 16) db
BUT..."..the house built upon the rock will endure and remain standing..." (Matt 7) db
Artistic Expression.....Not all will like all works of artistic expression. They don't have to. The artist is simply trying to say something that has deep meaning to him or her and wishes to share that with others. Here in Detroit, we have Murillo's "Flight into Egypt" a wonderful painting. Interesting point out: the artist uses light to draw your eye first to the Christ Child, then to His mother Mary, then to Joseph and finally to the donkey. The largest figure in the painting is the donkey BUT the animal almost disappears in the darkness. Wonderful work and a thrill to see it.
A GREAT BARGAIN...............Near us, their is a thrift chop run by a church to raise funds for women and children in need. Wonderful place to shop and consider helping others as well. I bought a beautiful painting, Five Mums in a Glazed Vase. Wish I could send a picture. You will not see me on the road show with it. On the back, there is a notation from the artist..."Budapest Hungary, 1953"...and more that I cannot understand." It may not be a world renowned painting but to ME, it is so beautiful and reminds me of the persons who are so deserving of all that we can do for them. Valuable? YES!
