Mid-morning Prayer
Settled in. Seeking words. Prayers. "As the deer longs for water, so I long for you Lord." Waiting. Slowly tugging. Carrying others burdens.. Touching. Listening. I try to liturgize the morning, to see the things of God. Charged by coffee and 2 donut holds I trudge onward!

PRAYER...........Where would we be without prayer? It's the gas for my car!...it's the battery in my flashlight... "And sometimes He went off by Himself to pray...maybe all night in prayer..."
PRAYER COMPOSED BY GOD........Never forgot...One time a person giving a talk on prayer and God's will... He said: "Imagine that Christ was asked by you to write a prayer and that you would sign your name to it. Such a surrender to the Divine will!"Lord, write down whatever it is that I am to pray for...seek for...knock for...look for..."
SILENCE.........Often, I have to struggle to be still before the Lord. I want to be silent and give the time completely to Him but images and words and ideas and needs keep barging in. I just simply begin again knowing that He understands. Stillness of the desert night...what a solemn prayer that must have been for Christ when He spent the whole night in prayer!
I LOOK AT HIM.........The Cure of Ars had a beautiful story: A certain man often came to the church and sat quietly in prayer for the longest periods of time. One day, the Cure asked "What do you say to Him?" The man's reply: "Nothing. I look at Him and He looks at me."
CALL OF GOD
day by day, I call -
don't you hear...my beloved?
to My heart...come in.
PRAYER....(remember haiku?)
prayer is a love link -
my soul reaches for my Lord;
prayer is a searching.
prayer is a longing -
to look to Him, the Lord God;
prayer is a finding.
my heart looks to His -
joyful time of glad union;
my soul is at peace.
come near, He calls out -
Lord of all lords, King of kings;
o come...walk with Me.
I know your yearning -
it is all so clear to Me;
I do feel your love.
POWER, MERCY.....Psalm 61:12,13 "God has spoken once...two things I did learn: might belongs to the Lord and His mercy will flow as He directs."
mercy, Lord, show us -
so good and full of pity;
kindness flowing free.
