Merton Retreat PSALM

Psalm 0.9, Beta 1

Hymn to God, on Thomas Merton retreat

Glory be to God for coffee
And for dark, quiet, chilly mornings to drink it.
I do not always invite you into that silence, Lord.
Yet you await me there with patience,
Willing always to take even a maybe or simply not a no and turn it to yes.

Lead me to yes.
Teach me to invite and welcome,
Bring me into Your Presence in the silence.

Thoughts on your psalm.........Let me invite Thee cordially into my treasured silence...Let my wavering heart learn to say 'yes.'...In the sacred stillness, let me know Your august Presence.

Great thoughts you have shared. Thanks.

"...you await me there with patience..." Great thought....very well expressed. How patient He waits while we are 'so busy.'

Lord, I hurry to You
In the early morning light;
My heart hungers for You;
My faith hurries me on.

We hurry to meet Him who loves us so much. Psalm 124:2 "As the hills are around Jerusalem, so are the arms of God round about His people...now and forever."

'In the silence, so to find You'
What peace and joy...
What happiness to find Him;
He Whom the soul hungers for
He Whom the heart does thirst
He Who has first loved us
He Who is our Source and Destiny.
