Sunday Evening Compline

Beautiful day. Ate lunch after church at new Monells. Visited family and
friends. Even a nap. Psalm 79 was evening reading for me, a Psalm of
digging the rubble of one's life searching for hidden treasures.

Have you ever found treasures in the rubble of your life?

IN THE RUPPLE.........One thing stands out when I look at all the rupple and trash...it is something that made me learn to pray...drew me closer to God...impressed on me my poverty of spirit and my complete need of Him. I suffered a severe trauma as a child of ten and it is has been a thorn in my side ever since, reminding me of my dependence on the loving providence of God. He has sent many good people into my life and each one of them has been a source of help in one way or another. "Lord, without Thy light...all around me, darkest night."

JESUS FOUND A TREASURE...........When He was dying on the Cross, Dismas, the good thief, expressed faith in Him and His kingdom. "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom." We all know that wonderful reply: "This day...." In the rubble of Calvary, place of great suffering and shame...in that place, He found a straying lamb that wanted to come home. Great joy in Heaven over one..."

FOUND A TREASURE........We all can remember the story about the man who found a treasure in a field...went and hid it...and made a great effort to buy that field. Neat way of telling us that the Kingdom is most ardently to be sought...over all other 'treasures.'
