Friday

Been tired all day. Finished Tolstoy Park at 1:40 am. Could not sleep.
Tough day. With lady whose baby died and young woman whose young husband
is not doing well. Ate a salad at Applebees. Watched a new monk. Going
to bed early. Wish I could rest and spend day at Gethsemani. World
events are ponderous.

Dan and Janet....with prayers for your needs. "Behold, the Lord has done great things for us and we are become joyful." Psalm 125:3

HELPING.........When Christ was on the way to His death, they forced Simon to help carry the cross. At first, he must have been ashamed to have part in this execution but after his 'touch of grace' he probably rejoiced inwardly that he was helping Jesus Himself and that his deed would be remembered and when people were in great need and someone helped carry the cross of another, many would recall his role: Assisting those with very heavy loads!!! And so, in your work, Dan, you are doing a 'Simon thing.' God bless that great good work!

WEARY........"Come aside and rest awhile." "Come to me, you that are heavily burdened...I will REFRESH you." We are tired sometimes and that tiredness becomes a grace...a call to draw close to God for His strength.

NEED........
so much need, I see -
Lord, everywhere, someone cries;
so to lift and bless.

PITY OF GOD....Psalm 88:48 "Lord, remember the clay of which we were made...all the children of man, hast Thou made them in vain?"He knows our clay and blesses us each day.

SIMON THINGS......
to give some comfort -
to extend the love of Christ;
to wipe away tears.

NEEDS FROM GOD...
His help I do need -
and, in lack, I call to Him;
His grace to lift me.

JOY IN GOD.......Psalm 121:1 "I rejoiced when I heard them say 'We shall go up to the house of the Lord.' " Faith teaches us to draw near to Him and there, we find our much needed rest and renewal in Him.
