LIFE IS CHANGED, NOT TAKEN AWAY...His passing reminds us of the words of that prayer "Lord, for life is changed, not taken away...' What God has prepared...we cannot imagine as Paul said.

FRAIL...........Speaking of death reminds me of a poem: "Tell someoe that you love them today...tomorrow might be too late...For life is frail and like candles in the wind, suddenly the flame is gone...Tomorrow might be late indeed." Written by a son after his father's sudden death...no time for a parting word.

CANNOT GET AWAY.....Not long ago my sister in law died. The speaker at her funeral closed his remarks by placing roses on her cremains and saying: 'Anne, when you are so loved...You can never get away...Someone will hold you in their hearts everyday.'

A SMILE FOR YOU......A man had two sons, one in New york and one in LA. He would spend some months with one and then some months with the other. One day, they asked Dad: 'Where shall we bury you when the time comes? East or West Coast? He thought for a moment and laughing said: 'SURPRISE ME!'

SMILE FOR YOU........Henry died and went to stand at the gate of Heaven and talk to Peter. Peter said: 'I looked in the book and your page is blank...no good deeds at all.' Henry said that he had done some good things...like one time 'I gave a quarter to the Salvation Army.' Peter said that he would check with God. He came back a little while later. He was not smiling. Henry said 'What did He say?' Peter said: 'He told me to give you your quarter back and tell you to go to..(that other place).'

REJOICE...When a good dies, it is a day of rejoicing for he has gone to God from whence he came. It is part of the cycle of love...love comes down...love goes back...it flows out...it returns to the Fountain Head.

JOY IN GOD.....Psalm 149:5 "The saints shall be joyful in glory...as they take their rest." Lord, I am here for Thou hast called me...What gladness to be with Thee...What praise I owe to Thee...so many blessings did I see.

WHY ARE YOU HERE?.....My Dad died in April...the day he was buried was a perfectly beautiful day. 'So hard to say goodby with all the birds singing in the sky.' After the lunch for everyone, I drove alone to the cemetary to his grave. I stood there for quite a while. Then an inner voice said: 'Why are you here? Cemetaries are for the dead not the living. Go now....your family needs you.' It was strange.and yet it was peaceful and right...like my Dad. I left and rarely go back but I hold him in my heart everyday. He was a good man...always giving... that should have been his middle name.

KINDNESS SHOWN.......One time we went to the funeral home because a nine year old boy, relative of a lady across the street, grandson, had died. As we got out of the car in the lot, the family came out to hug us and greet us because they knew that it was hard for people to come to the wake of such a little one. Never will forget that...despite their sorrow, they were thinking about the feelings of all those who would come. When we left, they continued to watch and go out to greet. What loving hearts!!!How God must have smiled on them!!!
