18 degrees - Sunny: I miss "Fellowship at Barclay. It was always a prelude to spring. Founded by Devaugn Woods and Dr. Gabe Payne, it was a result of the laymen movement in the late 60s. Steve Brown, the Presbyterian minister took over in the later years.
Usually 200 people would attend, including Cliff Barrows and his wife sometimes. We would eat the buffet on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning. On Saturday we napped after lunch then went to
Patti's for supper and got back in time for the singing. Steve Brown's preaching was a delight.
It was always a weekend of spiritual refreshment. God always seemed to have a message for me. The weather was usually cold, or sometimes it snowed, but there was always the sunshine in people's hearts.
Gabe Payne died several years ago. Devaughn Woods died this year. We no longer have Fellowship at Barclay but we do remember the saints who began it. We were blessed.
