Happy Jack

Having a good time.

Wednesday Night Poetry

Wednesday Night Poetry

The cat has been out all night
He has slept all day
A mockingbird chirps when I go outside
I am late taking out the garbage
My toes tingle on both feet
I do not have the tv on
I am not reading.

When Abram died this morning of a liver
Refusing to function
His Mom said, "he was a good boy going to be with Jesus. His only
problem was he liked to drink."

It is cool outside. Compline time. A way of
Saying goodnight.

Now the darkness.

Dayton Hamfest

On the way back from the Dayton Hamfest. Always enjoy it. I get to see
several of my National Radio Club buddies and see new radio equipment.
Bought a new homemade K8RA keyer which should be nice to use. Will be
fun to use with qrp radio. Liked this picture of Richard Nixon. Always
cool scenes there.

A Day Off

I am taking today off. There are no plans. I have begun without shaving,
reading from 2 John, and now stumbling through Conde Naste Traveler.
With gas levels high and airfares and euro's high our trip planning will
be minimum this year. It is hard to believe we were in London last May.

Emmaus | Being A Servant/Leader

This is a story about Douglas Steere. I was once in a retreat he led at
Penuel Ridge Retreat Center. He was an amazing spiritual leader and
wonderful writer. Read his thoughts on listening.

John Michael Talbot- Fire at Monastery

John Michael Talbot was a featured speaker at the International Thomas
Merton Society meeting in Memphis, TN in 2007. This is so sad:
